The Master of the House

A Maid Stopped Her From Slapping An Innocent Wheelchair Patient

Victoria put on her best victim act as Arthur stepped into the open circle. She let out a small, dramatic sob, hoping to sway the powerful man before the maid could explain her actions.

Victoria: Mr. Sterling, thank goodness you are here! This crazy maid grabbed my wrist and threatened me when I was just trying to walk past!

Arthur did not listen to a single word coming out of Victoria's mouth. He had seen the final moments of her raised fist from the top of the staircase, and he knew the true character of both women standing before him. Before Victoria could finish her sentence, Arthur stepped directly into her personal space with intense rage burning in his dark eyes.

With a sudden, powerful movement, Arthur brought his right hand around in a hard, open-handed slap directly across Victoria's left cheek. The loud physical impact echoed through the high-ceilinged ballroom like a gunshot, shocking everyone into absolute silence. Victoria's head snapped back visibly from the force of the hit, and her silver hair clip flew off, clattering onto the hardwood floor.

Arthur: GET YOUR HANDS OFF HER!

Victoria stumbled back three full steps, clutching her burning red cheek with both hands. Her eyes were wide with total disbelief and shock as she looked up at the powerful billionaire standing over her. She could barely process that someone had actually struck her in front of hundreds of high-society guests.

Victoria: You... you slapped me?! My father will destroy your business for this!

Arthur stepped right back into her space, towering over her with a cold, terrifying glare that made her instantly step backward toward the exit. He pointed his finger straight toward the large double doors leading out to the main driveway, his voice booming like thunder across the quiet room.

Arthur: THAT OLD WOMAN IS MY MOTHER! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE RIGHT NOW!

The words slammed into Victoria like a heavy freight train. Her heart sank instantly into her stomach as the horrifying reality of her mistake washed over her entire body. The quiet, defenseless woman in the wheelchair was not a random guest or an unwanted intruder; she was Evelyn Sterling, the matriarch of the single most powerful family in the state.

Victoria looked down at Mrs. Sterling, whose calm eyes were now looking up at her son with quiet pride. Victoria's face drained of all color, turning as white as a bedsheet as she realized the massive legal and financial consequences that were about to rain down on her family's real estate business. Her father's main investor was none other than Arthur Sterling himself.

Arthur: If you are still on my property in two minutes, I will have my security team drag you out to the street in front of the press!
